A Night in White

A father was trying to get custody of his four children because their mother was a drug addict and unable to properly care for them. To get custody, the court required the father to go from San Diego to LA every weekend for two months to be with the children. This was quite a financial strain. The father was able to pay for accommodations, but needed help with his travel costs. Travelers Aid came to his rescue, making it possible for him to meet the court's requirements. Today, this father and his four children are happily reunited

Established in 1902 and incorporated in 1914, Travelers Aid Society is a private, non-profit agency that provides social service assistance to San Diegans, travelers, and newcomers in need. Services include crisis and short-term assistance for food, shelter, and transportation as well as advice and resources for leisure and business travelers to our region.

The mission of Travelers Aid is to assist individuals and families who, in times of crisis or transition, are disconnected from their support systems. Travelers Aid provides access (rather than directly providing programs) to critical services for those who have no other means to reach those services.

We are proud to be members of Travelers Aid International, the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and the San Diego Chamber of Commerce.
